Omer, a rebellious soldier counting the days until his military discharge, takes on a young Palestinian in a graffiti-duel
Confronted by his commander, they clash and a weapon goes off. As he sees the commander fall, Omer's feet instinctively carry him away. Soon after he's declared AWOL, Omer finds himself taking on false identities, constantly on the run. As lies become truth, the freedom is intoxicating. He drifts further away both from his former life, but not from himself. Ultimately Omer is faced with the harsh choice of having to end it all, and turn himself in.
Meeting an ex-soldier whom had escaped military police during his service, reminded me of how difficult it can be for a young person to balance conflict, both inner and exterior. Based on an original idea, research has inspired us to examine the emotional turmoil in this character driven story, set in a conflict ridden reality.
