Over the Passover holiday, when the diner is closed, Dalia and Nada overcome the alienation and their political differences and create a delicate tapestry of trust and mutual accountability
When her son Asaf was killed on the Lebanese border, Dalia, 45, moved to Shlomi, and opened a roadside diner for soldiers. A few days before Passover, Dalia finds Nada in the storeroom, an Arab woman who has been abused and is now hiding from her family. Over the holiday, when the diner is closed, the two women overcome the alienation and the political differences and create a delicate tapestry of trust and mutual accountability
MOTHER OF ALL SOLDIERS is about two women from different cultures, divided by an age old conflict. Each woman has suffered the loss of her son, each has rescued herself from the abyss and found the strength to start over. Their initial encounter is charged with tension and suspicion, yet it provides an opportunity for something beyond the mundane, beyond the never ending struggle to survive
