Time changes everything, whether we like it or not
Prof. Sarah Ben-Tov (78) is an energetic and industrious woman, recipient of the “the Israel Prize” in the field of history, and is the pride of her small desert town Arad. Her routine changes when her husband suffers from a stroke and collapses. Eddie (32), an Indian caregiver, moves in. The encounter with him awakens a passion she hasn’t felt for years and unravels the dark sides of her personality. Sarah develops an obsession towards Eddie, and after her husband’s death she won’t stand another loss. Sarah slowly loses control over her life.
An elderly woman is not supposed to fall in love with a young man. Especially not a respectable woman of the community whose husband is dying. The film’s protagonist is confronted with the gap between the aging body and the young mind. She is not ready to accept that reality is changing, and tries to hang on to the past. This is a story about humanity’s inability to accept the fate that awaits around the corner.
